Who We Are

Mission: To provide a ‘home away from home’ for families with hospitalized children coming to Grand Rapids.

Since 1990, RMHC West Michigan has been a place of hope and healing when families felt alone. We provide care, comfort, community and a free place to stay so families can focus on what’s most important – the health of their child. The Ronald McDonald House provides care, comfort, and a free place to stay when families need it most. Families who stay at the House have children at Grand Rapids community hospitals receiving inpatient or outpatient medical or mental health treatment. We work closely with our referral partners to ensure families have a place to stay. Our local hospital partners include: Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, Pine Rest Christian Mental Health Services, Forest View Hospital, Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital, and other Grand Rapids health care institutions and medical professionals.

What We Do

In addition to living accommodations, families receive supportive services and amenities designed to reduce and manage their financial, emotional, psychological, and social stressors, as well as sustain them throughout their child’s treatment. And it is 100% free. Families are never given a bill.

These support services include:

  • Comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, calming artwork, & hotel quality linens
  • Freshly made meals provided by caring volunteers & kitchen access if families prefer to cook their own meals
  • 5 beautiful park-like acres with a playhouse, playground equipment, grill, & outdoor furniture
  • Amenities that make the House feel like home like laundry, playroom, TV’s & streaming services, & more.
