Volunteer: Food Prep Volunteer

For thousands of West Michigan children, a Sack Supper means that school lunch doesn’t have to be the last meal of the day. With the help of our volunteers, we provide the security and consistency of guaranteeing that meal each and every weekday.

You could be assisting with things like packing fresh produce, making trail mix, sorting food, re-packing food items, or other much needed tasks. No task is ever a guarantee, and projects do change last minute due to food goods available on-site. Please be ready to have a good time while ensuring kids in our community get the nutrition they need to thrive!

Volunteer: Meal Delivery Driver

For thousands of West Michigan children, a Sack Supper means that school lunch doesn’t have to be the last meal of the day. With the help of our volunteers, we provide the security and consistency of guaranteeing that meal each and every weekday.

Our Sack Supper delivery drivers help to deliver these meals to the dozens of schools that we serve within Kent County, but they also do so much more. They help provide comfort to the children who now know that they have the nourishment they need to learn and live well.

Drivers come to Kids’ Food Basket on a scheduled day each week to deliver Sack Suppers to assigned schools, usually using one of KFB's branded delivery vans. Depending on the size of the delivery, a typical driving route will take 1.5-3 hours.

• Pre-made Meals: Grab some bulk frozen meals from your favorite wholesale store!
• Cook it yourself: Whip up a homemade meal in your own kitchen!
• Cater: Want to support, but don’t have time to go to the store or make it yourself? Catering a meal is
the best option for you!
