Who We Are
Mission: To provide and promote compassionate, personalized support to patients and families in Michigan affected by leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related disorders.
The Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan is a non-profit organization that has been dedicated to addressing the emotional, financial, and social needs of patients and families affected by blood cancer across Michigan for over 70 years. BCFM started in 1952 as Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan by a group of parents who had each lost a child to leukemia. Only five years later they also began supporting adults with blood cancer. 72 years later, we continue the mission of supporting everyone in the state of Michigan who has been affected by blood cancer or potentially malignant blood disorders.
Today, we serve more than 2,800 patients and 8,700 family members across the state. And, since our first year of service delivery, we have supported more than 30,000 patients, and untold members of their families.
What We Do
BCFM (formerly Children’s Leukemia Foundation of Michigan) offers support to blood cancer patients and their families through customized emotional support, financial assistance, disease education and resources, and social support.
