Who We Are
Mission: To provide quality nutrition services in a supportive environment to promote the health and independence of older adults.
Meals on Wheels Western Michigan helps meet the nutrition needs of over 7,000 aging individuals in Kent and Allegan counties, helping them stay healthy and independent. Meals on Wheels Western Michigan (MOWWM) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that provides nutrition services to enable seniors to remain healthy and independent in their own homes
What We Do
We accomplish this mission by physically delivering meals to homebound seniors (60 and older), providing a friendly atmosphere and nutritious meal at one of our 13 dining centers, and allowing seniors to collect food from one of our three pantries twice a month. In 2015, MOWWM prepared more than 532,000 meals annually. Of those meals, over 450,000 were delivered to homebound older adults. More than 5,500 seniors in Kent and Allegan County are currently receiving our services. Through congregate sites, or dining halls, over 75,000 meals are served each year. MOWWM’s pantries serve over 1,000 seniors each month. A new record was reached in 2015, when our pantries provided more than 1 MILLION pounds of food to seniors!
