Mission: To build community in southwestern Kent County by providing material and educational assistance to meet basic needs, improve quality of life, and promote self-sufficiency.
United Community Outreach Ministries (UCOM) is a faith-based organization with a mission to provide compassionate assistance and resources to individuals and families in need, helping them achieve self-sufficiency and stability. UCOM is committed to addressing the root causes of poverty and food insecurity, working to create a stronger, healthier community where every person has the opportunity to thrive. Their mission emphasizes the values of dignity, respect, and hope, as they walk alongside those they serve, offering support and guidance in times of difficulty.
What We Do
UCOM offers a variety of services aimed at alleviating poverty and supporting individuals in achieving long-term stability. Their food pantry provides nutritious groceries to families facing food insecurity, while their financial assistance program helps with critical needs such as rent, utilities, and transportation. In addition, UCOM offers educational workshops, including job readiness training, financial literacy, and health and wellness programs, empowering clients to improve their skills and achieve economic independence. By providing holistic, community-focused support, UCOM helps individuals and families overcome challenges and build brighter futures.
